The Oregon State Building and Construction Trades Council has worked to be a leading part of the state’s green building movement and to create business opportunities with union construction workers and contractors across Oregon.
Our 21 different crafts have been working with energy efficient building practices for more than 100 years. These traditions and techniques have been passed down through five generations of apprentices and journeyman and continue to be the cornerstone of our trades. While our expertise is diverse, from renewable energy to conservation to efficient use of water runoff, we all work to achieve the same goal—safe and sustainable building practices.
Each and every one of our members is committed to the highest level of professionalism and quality. Each of our member organizations has an extensive apprenticeship process that teaches those new to the trade not only the fundamentals but also how to carry on the renewable practices that are paramount to our success. Our training facilities offer state-of-the-art tools and resources that allow new members a way to become grounded in the fundamentals while offering an avenue for those who have been in the profession a way to refresh and expand on their knowledge.
While technology is ever changing, our practices remain steadfast and true. Advances in technology serve as a catalyst for us to do our job more efficient for our clients.
